Somatic hypnotherapy is an approach deeply influenced by the works of Milton Erickson, Carl Jung, and pioneers of somatic psychology such as Bessel van der Kolk and Peter Levine.
This form of hypnotherapy recognizes that the body is the vessel for our traumas and emotional suffering.
Respectful of the individual, somatic hypnotherapy focuses on the subtle listening of both body and mind. The practitioner adapts to the unique experience of each person, using subtle suggestions to allow the subconscious and the body to reconnect and release repressed emotions and pain. Metaphors, visualizations, stories, indirect and direct suggestions are used to bypass the rational mind and critical filter and allow the body to release accumulated tension, thus promoting a holistic healing process.
In this approach, the practitioner becomes a guide, holding space for each person to access their own inner resources to regain mental, emotional and bodily balance. The body and mind are thus encouraged to work together, allowing the person to break free from blockages and move toward overall well-being.

What to expect from a session?
Free Discovery Call - 30min
I get to understand how you operate, your current context and the specific desired goal.
I usually ask you this "How can I most help you with currently? How will you know you no longer need sessions? How does your life look like without this problem?"
This helps us define your needs and expectations together. From there I create a "therapeutic map" that helps us establish a relationship of trust and clear vision of our therapeutic collaboration.
First Session - 90min
First, we have a check-in where I ask you a couple of questions.
Followed by what is called "hypnotic induction" (achieving a state of trance allowing you to reach the unconscious) during which you remain perfectly conscious. Then, a third phase during which I guide your unconscious to draw on the resources that you already have inside yourself to create the changes we've agreed on.

Journeying
There's no established rule regarding the number of sessions.
Hypnotherapy is recognized to be an effective therapy that recquires less appointements compared to other -more conventional- forms of therapy.
However, for ethical consideration, I ask that you commit for a minimum of 3 months. I am a firm believer that while creating fast change is easy, what I'm truly interested in is change that is sustainable on the long-term.
